Lukman Urges Opposition Leaders to Create Platform to Challenge APC’s Dominance

Must Read

Dr. Salihu Lukman, who used to be the Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says that opposition leaders need to create a new political plan by December 2024 if they want to take power from President Bola Tinubu and the APC.

He warned that if the opposition leaders don’t take things seriously, it might be hard to change the government of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

In a statement on Monday, Lukman said things are getting worse in the country, but there isn’t much effort to rally people together to make a change in 2027.

He said: “It’s important to tell opposition political leaders that if they keep being careless, it could result in Nigerians not being able to change the government of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

“If by the end of December 2024, no serious plan is started to create a new political platform with opposition leaders working selflessly, it means any fight against APC and President Tinubu in 2027 will only be about personal ambitions of individual leaders.”

Lukman also said that if political leaders only support each other for personal gain rather than for the good of the country, it could lead to even worse government in the future.

“No matter if the next government is led by Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, or any other leader, if it’s built on personal ambitions, it could be even worse,” he said.
