There is a big fight going on in the Labour Party (LP) in Cross River State. Among all this fighting, Brian Odey, who works for the people of Yala in the State House of Assembly, has decided to leave the Labour Party. This is a big problem for the party.
Last weekend, the ruling party in the state, APC, held a big event to welcome Brian Odey and others who decided to join them.
Brian Odey joined the APC in Yahe Ward, which is located in Yala Local Government Area.
Both groups, one led by Ogar Osim and the other by John Ushie, told the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) that they will have candidates ready to participate in the Council elections on October 25, 2024.
Another important member who joined the APC is Martins Achadu. He represents Yala 2 in the State House of Assembly and made it official in Ijiraga ward.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Elvert Ayambem, welcomed them and said it was a smart move for the APC. He said both Brian and Martins are not only skilled but also love their people very much.
“Brian joining us is not just a happy moment for me; it’s a win for APC. He is very dedicated and hardworking, and this will help our party grow and succeed,” the Speaker said.
