The police in Lagos have arrested a woman named Joy Kelvin. She is accused of hurting a man named Okafor with a knife. Okafor was 48 years old.
A police officer named Benjamin Hundeyin told everyone about this on Monday in Lagos.
He said that the sad event happened early in the morning at 5:32 am. This was at a place called Jakande Housing Estate in Lekki.
A friend of Okafor went to the police to tell them about what happened. Here’s what the friend said:
“I got a phone call from another friend. They told me that Okafor was hurt by a woman named Joy Kelvin. He had invited her to his house to spend the night.”
The friend also explained, “We took Okafor to the hospital right away. But a doctor at the hospital said Okafor had died.”
Hundeyin said, “As soon as we heard about this, the police went to the house quickly. They found and took Joy Kelvin into custody.”
He added, “Okafor’s body was moved to the hospital in Yaba to be kept safe and to find out more about how he died.”
The police are now trying to find Okafor’s family to tell them what happened. They are also working hard to understand why this happened.
