Lagos Government Shuts Down Multiple Businesses for Environmental Violations

Must Read

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), has shut down some places in Lagos because they broke the rules about keeping the environment clean and safe.

This action took place in areas like Fagba, Iyana Ipaja, Ifako-Ijaiye, and Orile Agege. LASEPA is doing this to make sure everyone follows the rules and people stay healthy.

This information was shared by Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, on his social media page.

Mr. Wahab said that the places that were shut down included Chanelrose Lounge & Bar, Mama Juli Lounge & Bakery, Klub P-14 Hotel, Emmy Prince Hotel, Baltimat Industries Limited, Iju Ishaga City Hotel & Lounge, Chitec Aluminum, and Safeland Hotel. These businesses did not follow the environmental rules, even after they were warned.

“Today, LASEPA took action by closing several businesses in Lagos State because they were not following the environmental rules. This happened in places like Fagba, Iyana Ipaja, Ifako-Ijaiye, and Orile Agege. LASEPA is making sure that people follow the rules and stay healthy.”

“The businesses that were closed include Chanelrose Lounge & Bar, Mama Juli Lounge & Bakery, Klub P-14 Hotel, Emmy Prince Hotel, Baltimat Industries Limited, Iju Ishaga City Hotel & Lounge, Chitec Aluminum, and Safeland Hotel.”

“These businesses were warned but still did not follow the rules,” the commissioner said.

This shows that Lagos State is serious about keeping the environment clean and safe. They have done this kind of action several times and more will happen if needed.

Important Things to Remember

The Lagos government is working hard to make sure everyone follows the rules that keep the environment clean. They closed some places that didn’t meet the health standards.

Big markets like Mile 12, Ladipo, and Oyingbo were also closed for a while. They could only open again after they cleaned up and followed the rules set by the government to keep people healthy.

Besides markets, other places like fast-food spots, hotels, and restaurants were also shut down because they didn’t keep the area clean and safe.

The government wants everyone to know these actions are to keep everyone living in Lagos in a safe and clean place.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said these actions are needed to make sure everyone stays healthy and businesses follow the rules.

The Lagos government has already done many enforcement actions and will continue to do so. They want all businesses to follow the rules, showing that they will take action if the rules are broken.
