The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held the second edition of its annual Nine Lessons Christmas Carol to celebrate the essence of the birth of Jesus Christ.

The carol, with the theme “The Christ in you, hope of glory”, was performed on Sunday at the party secretariat in Lagos.

In his opening remarks, the party president, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, charged the people of Lagos and Nigeria to love each other and live in peace and harmony.

According to him, Christmas is not only a celebration but also an opportunity to renew our relationship with God, family and friends.

He called on Nigerians and Lagos to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES agenda respectively.

He added: “Christmas is another time to reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves.

This teaches us that there is peace and unity in living together. Christmas is not just about celebration. It is an opportunity to amend and renew our relationships with God, family, friends and neighbors.

We must love honestly and unconditionally to be able to live in peace. As we move into the New Year, let us love ourselves, our neighbors, and our country.

Let us support President Tinubu in his efforts to improve the country for all of us. Let us also cooperate with our governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to achieve the TEMAS agenda.

In the Christmas spirit, show mercy and love to your fellow citizens. I pray that this Christmas will not be the last in the land of the living.”

In his goodwill message, the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by his Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture, Hon. Ibrahim Olanrewaju Layode, accused Lagosians of being optimistic and committed to the growth and development of the state.

He urged Lagosians to put aside their differences and embrace the peace and unity that unites them.

He said: “It is an honor to join the president, executive and members of the party in this year’s carol. We have every reason to be grateful for what God has used our party to achieve at the central, state and local government levels.
