In her stated commitment to ensure that Nigerians celebrate Christmas and New Year with joy and happiness, the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, has donated 1,000 50kg bags of rice to the Kogi Chapter of the Northern Nigeria Christian Political Forum to distribute them among its members throughout the state.

While flagging off the distribution in Lokoja on Wednesday, the deputy national coordinator of the forum, Elder Ibrahim Itodo, said the forum was formed in the heat of the Muslim presidential candidacy in the last elections.

He said the forum was not specific in attacking the Muslim-Muslim agreement, but found it expedient to have a mix of the two major religions for the unity of the country.

He, however, stated that the forum had to uphold the policies of good governance, capacity, competence and character that the current APC administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has come to represent.

The deputy coordinator further revealed that the decision to support the APC presidency depended on the fact that the First Lady is a committed Christian who will help the administration govern by the fear of God and love for humanity.

He congratulated the wife of President Oluremi Tinubu for recognizing the forum by donating 1,000 bags of rice to cushion the effect of economic reality on Christians during the Christmas holidays.

However, a former House of Representatives from Adavi and Okehi federal constituencies, and a coordinator, Asiwaju for All, Hon. Mohammed Kabir Ajana, praised the efforts of the first lady and stated that the palliative would take care of the Christian communities in the state.

The former legislator affirmed that this palliative is to alleviate the economic situation of Christians at this time of the celebration, highlighting that the people must renew their hopes since the government is working hard to improve the lives of citizens.

He advised Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support for government policies and programmes, regardless of the current difficulties, hinting that at the end of the tunnel, the country will witness a chance at life.

In a statement, the state coordinator of the forum, Madueke Aphraim, described the first lady as a loving and caring mother as the rice would go a long way in reducing the financial burden of the beneficiaries during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

He assured that the forum will be meticulous in the exchange formula that will affect the main Christian actors in the 21 local government councils of the state.
