Kidnappers Kill One in Ekiti; Police Rescue Four Victims

Four people who were kidnapped along the Isan-Iludun Ekiti road in Ilejemeje local government area over the weekend are now free and safe.

Sadly, a 22-year-old named Oguntuase Idowu Oguntuase was killed by the kidnappers. He was the fifth person involved in this unfortunate event.

Reports say that some unknown gunmen attacked these people on the Isan-Iye Ekiti road in the Ilejemeje area. They killed one person and took four others away.

The victims were traveling on the road this past Sunday evening. During this time, the driver for the Ekiti State Commissioner for Local Government was reportedly shot and killed.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Ekiti State, DSP Sunday Abutu, confirmed that the kidnapped people have been rescued alive. He also said that the police are making efforts to find and arrest the kidnappers.

At the state assembly meeting on Tuesday, Hon. Princess Iyabo Okieimen-Fakunle, the Lawmaker for Ilejemeje Constituency, mentioned the sad incident. She alerted the House about the killing and kidnapping that occurred on the outskirts of Iludun Ekiti in Ilejemeje on Sunday, September 22nd. In this incident, one life was lost, and four people were abducted.

The Speaker, Adeoye Aribasoye, along with other lawmakers, expressed their condolences over the death of the young and promising boy, Idowu Oguntuase.

The Speaker also offered sympathies to the lawmaker representing Ilejemeje and the community regarding the killing and abduction of five people in the area, as reported by Lawmaker Iyabode Okiemen.
