He noted that the state government has also registered 59,056 most vulnerable people in the system, another 4,938 with disabilities and 3,885 elderly people.

He noted that the state government had drawn up guidelines to ensure accountability on how contributions would be used.

“The guidelines stipulate that KTCHMA submits a quarterly program report of its activities in the operational thematic areas of the plan.

“The report should provide an overview of the monitoring and evaluation of the plan from January to August 2024, under the leadership of the Director General, Mohammad Tukur Ibrahim.

“It is also to highlight the successes achieved, the challenges faced and recommendations for improvement.”

He explained that KTCHMA recently received another disbursement from the BHCPF for another registration in August 2024, which is ongoing.

The director also said that the scheme had enrolled the entire Katsina State Community Policing Corps with one clerk and over 3,000 sickle cell clients.

“We also managed to enroll 7,000 newly recruited employees of the state's Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in the scheme, paying capitation and fee-for-service to all healthcare providers without any outstanding charges.”

During the meeting, Fatima Musa, Social Policy Specialist at UNICEF Kano Field Office, presented a paper on planning and budgeting for results-based social protection.
