The agents of the Katsina Security and Trafficking Authority, Kassarota, Malumfashi Division, have successfully arrested an alleged motorcycle thief.
A statement issued by the Public Relations officer of the Authority, Abubakar Marwana Kofar Sauri, revealed that the suspect was arrested around 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 15, 2025, during a routine patrol of Kassarota agents in Malumfashi, under the leadership of Aminu Sani Shargalle.
According to the reports, the security personnel had been tracking the suspect from Tsaria while heading through Kano to Malumfashi, trying to transport the stolen motorcycle.
Upon arrival in Malumfashi, Kassarota's official guards stopped him for inspection and discovered that the motorcycle had a false registration number and did not belong to him.
After additional investigation, the suspect was fined for using a false registration and subsequently was delivered to the Nigerian police force. It was later confirmed that the motorcycle had been stolen.
The general director of Kassarota in the state of Katsina, Major Garba Yahaya Rimi (retd.), Praised the dedication and surveillance of Kassarota staff for their efforts to stop the suspect and deliver it to the appropriate authorities.
He also urged the public to give up driving or driving vehicles without valid registration numbers or with false numbers plates. In addition, he asked citizens to continue supporting authority in their mission of enforcing road safety regulations and guaranteeing compliance with vehicle registration laws in the state of Katsina.
