Police in Kaduna State have caught 35 people who were stealing phones. They did this by finding and stopping them in some places in the state capital where crime happens a lot.
Police spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, told the public about this news on Saturday.
He said that the police had done special searches to stop rising phone theft in the state.
“The police searched these areas from 7 PM to almost midnight, from Tuesday to Friday. They did this because the Police Commissioner, Mr. Audu Dabigi, told them to,” ASP Hassan said.
The search was in certain parts of Kaduna city known for crime. They caught 35 people, including two women.
“The people caught had dangerous weapons, Marijuana, and other illegal drugs,” the police spokesperson said.
The Police Commissioner said that anyone who did the crime would go to court to face charges.
The police promise to keep working hard to stop crime in the state.
