Judge Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal Superior Court, abuses, manages the lawsuit filed by the suspended senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan that seeks to restrict the Senate committee on ethics, privileges and public requests to take any disciplinary action against it, has retired from the matter.
The Senator in conflict that represents the central senatorial district of Kogi had dragged the Secretary of the National Assembly, the Senate, the president of the Senate Godswill Akpabio, and the president, the Senate Ethics Committee, the privileges and public requests for the courts that seek to stop any disciplinary action against their alteration with the president of the Senate.

Judge Egwuatu had, on March 10, 2025, postponed the matter until Tuesday, March 25 for an hearing of all requests submitted in the matter and ordered the parties to submit and comply all the requests before.
When the matter was called on Tuesday, Judge Egwuatu, in a brief ruling, withdrew from the case and ordered that the file of the case be transferred to the main judge of the Federal Superior Court for reallocation to another judge for his continuation.
The judge pointed out that his challenge was as a result of rumors of bias against him.
Judge Egwuatu had while governing an ex-party request presented by Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan granted a provisional court order that restricted the Senate Committee on ethics, privileges and public requests to proceed with disciplinary actions against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Despite the restriction order, they gave him a six -month suspension for a heated words exchange he had with the president of the Senate Godswill Akpabio during the plenary of February 20.
She had protested for her assigned seat agreement, repeatedly raising an order point despite being annulled. In response, the Senate sent his case to the Ethics Committee for review.
On February 28, in an interview with Arise TV, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan claimed that his problems in the Senate began after he rejected the unwanted advances of AKPabio.
In his request, he urged the court to declare any action taken during the processing of his claim such as, “null, null and without any effect.”
Granting the provisional court order, Judge Egwuatu ordered the defendants to appear within 72 hours after delivery to show why a complete interlocutory order against them should not be issued.
