Police Arrest Man for Fake Dollar Scam
The police in Jigawa State have caught a 30-year-old man named Aminu Bala. He is suspected of cheating people with fake US dollars.
The police spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, told DAILY POST about this arrest.
This happened on Tuesday afternoon. A man named Alhaji Sani Muhammad from Kano State went to the police in Kiyawa to report a fraud case.
Alhaji Sani said someone in Nafara village, Birnin Kudu tricked him. He was told he could exchange his two million naira for US dollars, but it was all a lie.
When the police heard this, their Rapid Response Team took action. They went to the place, investigated, and finally arrested Aminu Bala from Sokoto State.
They found many fake dollar bills in his small box. In fact, there were 321 pieces of fake 100 US dollar notes! They also found a red boxer motorcycle with the registration number KSF 538 QJ and cash worth N59,820.
Aminu also admitted that the motorcycle and money he had were taken from another person, Abdulrauf Sulaiman of Kwatai village in Birnin Kudu.
The police said Aminu confessed to the crime. He will soon be taken to court and face charges.
