The police in Jigawa State have made plans so that the local government election happens without any problems.
The head of the police, Mr. A.T. Abdullahi, told reporters that they are ready for the election on Saturday.
He said no cars will be allowed to move from Friday night to Saturday evening, except for important services like election officials, people watching the election, ambulances for sick people, and fire trucks.
Mr. Abdullahi reminded everyone that nobody should bring weapons like knives, sticks, or anything dangerous to the election. It is still against the rules to carry such things.
He advised everyone, including political supporters, to follow the rules during the election and not use any weapons.
The police boss also told security guards not to go with politicians to where people vote or where they count the votes.
Mr. Abdullahi mentioned that the police, along with other security groups, will work together to catch anybody trying to cause trouble and bring them to court.
