Jason Derulo Recounts Harrowing Gym Incident That Nearly Cost Him His Life

American singer Jason Derulo remembers hurting his neck really badly back in 2013. He was practicing for his big tour when he fell on his head.

Jason said he was at the gym when this happened, and he had to stop his tour because of it.

In a chat on Paris Hilton’s podcast called ‘I Am Paris’, Jason shared more about this scary moment. He thought his life might be over.

He told everyone that getting better took him seven months.

“In 2013, I broke my neck,” Jason said. “I was getting ready for my big world tour and working out with a trainer. The trainer told me, ‘Today we’re going to work on your endurance. You need to do some backflips one after another.’ During one of the backflips, I slipped and landed on my head. I broke one of my neck bones called the C-2 vertebrae.”

“Right when it happened, I heard a loud crack. I thought, ‘Oh no, is this the end for me?’”
