Japa: Couple Arrested by Police for Trying to Sell Their Son

A man and a woman in Lagos tried to sell their two-year-old son. They wanted money to go to Canada.

The man is 28 years old, and the woman is 22 years old. The police caught them when they tried to sell the boy.

Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, a police spokesman, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) about this on Thursday.

He said, “On Tuesday at 2:45 p.m., the police in Isolo got a tip. They heard that a couple went to the Isolo General Hospital. There, they said they wanted to sell their son.

The police quickly went to the hospital.

The boy is two years old. The police saved him. When the police asked the parents why, they said they needed money for the man to travel to Canada for a better life.

The police are still looking into this case,” he added.
