IRCC Extends Permanent Residency Invitations to 3,300 Candidates in Latest Express Entry Draw

Must Read

The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has sent out 3,300 invitations to people who want to live in Canada forever in the latest Express Entry draw.

Express Entry is an online system the Canadian government uses to handle applications from skilled workers who want to move to Canada and become permanent residents.

It picks the best candidates based on a points system from all the applications received.

Immigration News Canada says this draw focused on people in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), who had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 507 or more.

What This Is All About

CEC, as explained by Evisacanada, is a program for those with at least one year of full-time skilled work experience in Canada (or two years of part-time work) who want to apply for permanent residency.

More news shows this is the second draw of the week, with more draws possibly happening on Wednesday, the 27th, or Thursday, the 28th.

Recent Express Entry draws in August showed:

  • August 27: Canadian Experience Class (CEC) – 3,300 invitations, with a CRS cutoff of 507
  • August 26: The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) issued 1,121 invitations, with a CRS cutoff of 694
  • August 15: Level 7 in French – 2,000 invitations, with a CRS cutoff of 394
  • August 14: Canadian Experience Class (CEC) – 3,200 invitations, with a CRS cutoff of 509
  • August 13: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) – 763 invitations, with a CRS cutoff of 690

If there is a tie, IRCC uses a tie-breaking rule to decide who gets the invitation. The profile creation date will determine who is chosen if the scores are tied.

Recent data shows that CRS scores needed for the Canadian Experience Class are going down. Candidates in this category have 60 days to complete their application, including medical exams, police clearances, and proof of funds.

Current CRS Score Distribution

  • 601-1200: 127 candidates
  • 501-600: 9,764 candidates
  • 451-500:61,133 candidates
  • 401-450: 51,863 candidates
  • 351-400: 52,363 candidates
  • 301-350: 24,396 candidates
  • 0-300: 5,491 candidates

Total candidates in the Express Entry pool: 205,137

To be considered, candidates must first submit an Express Entry profile. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) will then evaluate and rank all profiles, assigning a score out of 1200 points to each candidate. Canada Law Firm advises.

Under Express Entry, only the highest-scoring candidates can get a permanent resident visa. But, draws happen often, giving multiple chances to receive an invitation, explains Canada Visa.

What Interested Applicants Should Do

To apply for Express Entry, you need to follow three steps:

  • First, submit your profile by providing documents like language test results, an educational credential assessment report, and a passport or travel document. After submitting, you’ll get a score and be added to the pool of candidates.
  • Next, update your information regularly and try to improve your score to increase your chances of getting an invitation.
  • If you are selected, you will receive an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence. You must submit more documents like reference letters, extra identity documents, police clearance certificates, and medical exam results.

What You Should Know

Canada’s Express Entry system handles applications for three federal programs and parts of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

The three federal programs are:

  • Federal Skilled Worker
  • Federal Skilled Trades
  • Canadian Experience Class

Each program has different requirements, and meeting the requirements does not guarantee an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

The Express Entry system picks candidates with the highest scores based on language ability, age, job offer, work experience, and education.

You can improve your CRS score by:

  • Language Proficiency: Retake language tests like IELTS or CELPIP.
  • Educational Credential Assessment (ECA): Ensure your academic qualifications are assessed.
  • Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs): Explore PNPs to boost your CRS score.
  • Job Offer: Get a valid job offer from a Canadian employer for up to 200 additional points.
  • Work Experience: More work experience can increase your score.

Express Entry’s Role in Canada’s Immigration Strategy

Reports show Express Entry is essential for Canada’s immigration goals. They plan to admit over 485,000 new immigrants this year, with many expected to come through Express Entry.

The government aims to welcome 110,770 immigrants through this system, showing its commitment to meeting labor needs and managing population levels.

Current Focus of Express Entry:

  • Healthcare
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
  • Trades (e.g., carpenters, plumbers)
  • Transport
  • Agriculture and Agri-food
