The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has told approved groups to upload photos and information about their observers on its website for the 2024 Edo and Ondo State Governorship elections.

This announcement was made in a post signed by Sam Olumekun, who is the Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, on INEC’s official X account on Monday.

INEC shared that they received 153 applications from interested groups. Out of these, 134 groups (124 from Nigeria and 10 from other countries) met the requirements and were approved.

INEC also said they will have a one-day training session for the approved observer groups on Wednesday at their Conference Room in Abuja.

The statement partly read, “The next step is for the approved groups to upload the personal information and pictures of their field observers on our special website made just for this purpose.”

“For this reason, INEC is holding a one-day training session for the representatives of the observer groups on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 10 a.m., in the Commission’s Conference Room in Abuja.”

“The access code for the website and the accreditation letters will be given to the representatives of the approved groups at the training venue.”
