Imo SDP Rejects LG Poll Results, Threatens Legal Action

Must Read

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Imo State says it will go to court to challenge the recent local government elections. These elections happened in 27 local councils and 305 wards.

The party was not happy with how the elections were done. They accused the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) of breaking the rules to help the APC party win.

This concern was sent in a letter to ISIEC by Ifeanyi Henry Eluwa, the State Chairman of SDP. The letter was also shared with news reporters in Owerri.

Eluwa said there was no real voting in any polling unit in Imo State. He disagreed with ISIEC’s claim that voting happened.

The SDP Chairman said the country is suffering because of bad leaders from the APC. He promised that SDP will fight the election results in court.

Eluwa explained, “ISIEC did not officially ask for or give forms ISIEC DF001 and ISIEC DF002 to our qualified candidates.”

“The Commission did not publish the list of qualified candidates in the areas where they wanted to run.”

“The people who were declared as winners were not even allowed to run for the election. The election was made unfair by corrupt actions and breaking legal rules,” he said.

In summary, the SDP in Imo is not accepting the local government election results and plans to take legal action.
