A well-known Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Omoni Oboli, shared a story about not getting a role in a movie because she wouldn’t kiss the director.
Omoni talked about this on the ‘Glasshouse Show’ with comedian AY.
She explained that this happened when she moved back to Nigeria after some time away to care for her children in another country.
During an audition, a director asked her to kiss him. She was confused and wondered why he would ask for that. Omoni asked, “Is this really part of the audition?” He said, “Yes, I just want to see.” Omoni replied, “I’m sorry, I can’t do that. We’re not filming a scene, so why would I kiss you?”
She politely refused and said, “Oh no, sorry, I can’t.” Because of this, she didn’t get the role she had traveled for and had to go back home without acting in the movie.
