Actress Regina Daniels has clarified a recent viral video in which she claimed to have 'twenty (20) boyfriends for different purposes' before marrying Ned Nwoko, a lawmaker representing Delta North Senatorial District.
PREMIUM TIMES previously reported that the 24-year-old, during a live chat with a friend on Instagram on Monday, said she met her husband during a family outing.
During the conversation, the mother of two revealed that she had twenty boyfriends before meeting her 63-year-old husband, each of whom played a different role.
She said: “When I started with my husband, I even forgot that I should have boyfriends because at that time I had twenty boyfriends, one to buy water and one to do other things. When people think I had no choice and when people think mom forced me, not knowing that mom was against marriage and my whole family said no.”
However, the revelation sparked criticism from netizens, who had different perceptions about his marriage to Nwoko.
In response to the misunderstandings, the actress clarified on Wednesday on her Instagram page that none of the twenty boyfriends had carnal knowledge of her.
She said: “Hello everyone, I want to clarify the 20 boyfriends thing solely to calm my husband and educate young girls that having several male boyfriends willing to do things for you does not mean you owe them your body. And oh yes.

“I had a lot, but I made a promise to keep my virginity until my marriage. And guess what? I did!!!. It's a great flex. But wait! What did you expect? It was your beautiful little love, Regina Daniels; men and women would admire him. So everyone calm down, please.”
Background
This was not the first time that virginity was a central point in discussions about the actresses' union. In March, Nwoko revealed in an interview with Channels Television's Seun Okinbaloye that he married Regina due, in part, to her virginity.
Nwoko and the actress got married on May 26, 2019 in Aniocha Local Government Area, Delta State.
Mr Nwoko further explained that while it was important for her to belong to his community, virginity was a major criterion in her search for a spouse.
The senator also shared that he rejected several marriage proposals for other women in his community because they did not meet the established criteria.
He noted that upon meeting Regina, he said, “I asked her immediately when we met if she was a virgin and she said 'Yes.'”
He further highlighted his expectations, including a strong commitment to sports, particularly tennis and swimming, which play an important role in his family's lifestyle.
According to him, Regina met the requirements and exceeded his expectations.
