I didn’t say Falana threatened to kill me.

Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has denied allegations that he said renowned human rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, threatened to kill him amid ongoing controversies surrounding the death of his son Mohbad.

Falana’s law firm, Falana’s Chambers, represents Wunmi Aloba, Mohbad’s widow, in the ongoing legal case to bring justice to Mohbad.

Earlier, reports emerged that Aloba accused Falana and his son’s widow of threatening his life.

However, in a statement on Friday, Aloba described such claims as “falsehoods from the pit of hell.”

The statement read in part: “My attention has been drawn to misleading posts on social media titled respectively as follows: ‘I fear Femi Falana and Wunmi want to kill me – shouts Mohbad’s father’; ‘Femi Falana, Wunmi threatening to kill me – Mohbad’s father comes clean’—’My daughter-in-law, Falana threatening to kill me’ – Mohbad’s father’.

“The above publications are entirely falsehoods from the abyss of hell. I have never alleged at any time that Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, threatened to kill me, and I do not believe that the eminent lawyer would ever be involved in such threats against me.”

Aloba stated that he had contacted Falana to clarify that he had made no such accusations against him.

He said he contacted the human rights lawyer after Wahab Shittu, the Aloba family’s lawyer, informed him about the allegation.

He added that the accusations were the work of criminals.

Justice

Mohbad’s father reiterated his commitment to uncovering the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.

He stated that his quest for justice is total and unequivocal, and emphasized that he will not rest until he achieves justice for Mohbad.

“This public clarification is necessary because I do not want mischief to derail this fight for justice for Mohbad by bringing me and our family into an unnecessary collision with Mr. Femi Falana SAN or anyone else. I have great respect for the personality of Mr. Femi Falana SAN,” he added.

Since Mohbad’s death, his father has insisted that justice be served, which revolves around obtaining autopsy results before burying his son, as well as DNA testing of Liam, his grandson.

However, the pathologist informed the coroner, during the hearing into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death, that the autopsy performed could not determine the cause of Mohbad’s death.

The pathologist cited decomposition of the body and other factors as reasons for not being able to determine the cause of Mohbad’s death.

In February, Aloba challenged her daughter-in-law to reveal everything she knows about the late singer’s death.
