The Plateau State Tourism Corporation (PSTC) has announced that a hyena has escaped from its cage at the Jos Wildlife Park.
The PSTC shared this news on Monday in Jos, saying they noticed the animal was missing.
The Jos Wildlife Park is a popular tourist spot in Plateau and a place where nature is preserved in Nigeria.
The park’s management has put out a warning to keep people safe and help capture the hyena.
They said, “Our team of game guards and park rangers is tracking the hyena with the help of drone technology.
“We want to reassure the public that we are doing everything we can to find the escaped hyena and bring it back to its cage soon.
“We ask everyone to stay calm and not go near the hyena if they see it. Please call park authorities right away at 09026927620 or 09131000945 if you spot the animal.
“Thank you for your cooperation. We will update everyone as soon as we have more news,” the statement said.
