Herbalist Faces Allegations of N2.5 Million Fraud

Must Read

On Tuesday, the Police brought a 55-year-old herbalist named Kabiru Amuda to an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan. They say he tricked someone and took N2.5 million using fake charms.

The police didn’t share where Amuda lives. They said he was charged with lying to get money and stealing. Amuda said he didn’t do it.

Police officer Iyabo Oladoyin told the court that these things happened sometime in June at Ilora, in Oyo State.

Oladoyin also said that Amuda took the money from a man named Taofeek Ogungbe. Amuda promised to make a charm that would make Ogungbe’s business and wealth grow. But, Amuda did not give the charm as promised.

This act breaks the law. It goes against Sections 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The judge, Mrs. Adebola Adeola, granted Amuda bail. This means he can stay out of jail until his next court date if he pays N3 million and gets two people to promise he will show up in court.

The judge set the next court date for August 20 to continue the hearing.
