Halima Abubakar, a well-known actress who’s not acting right now, is taking legal action against Emeka Rollas. Emeka is the leader of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, which is like a big club for people who act in movies.
Halima wants a huge amount of money, 30 billion naira, from Emeka because he said on his social media that she can’t act in movies anymore for a while.
A report called DAILY POST says that Halima got in trouble because people think she said bad things about Nollywood, the place where Nigerian movies are made.
When she heard about these accusations, Halima was upset. She said no one ever asked her side of the story before telling everyone she was suspended.
On October 20, 2024, Halima’s lawyers wrote a letter saying Emeka tried to make her look bad on purpose. They say this was especially mean because Halima has been sick for a long time and is trying to get better now.
The lawyers said that the things said about Halima have made her very sad and gave her a bad name. So, they want Emeka to take down what he posted about her and to say sorry to the public. They also want 30 billion naira for the trouble caused to Halima’s good name.
The letter ended with a warning, saying if Emeka doesn’t do these things in a week, Halima’s lawyers will take him to court.
