Gunmen Ambush Police Patrol, Fatally Wound Corporal Ojobule in Delta

Must Read

Some bad guys attacked a police patrol vehicle and killed a policeman named Chibuzor Ojobule.

This sad event happened on August 18, near Commissioner Road in Effurun, in the Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria, as reported by DAILY POST.

It is said that the attackers blocked the police van, shot the driver, Corporal Chibuzor Ojobule, and then ran away while other policemen managed to escape.

We don’t know yet if the attackers stole any guns from the police patrol team at the time of writing this report.

The Delta State Police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, sent a text message to our reporter in Warri, saying, “Not confirmed.”

A group called Initiative For Social Rights Concerns and Advancement (ISRCA), also known as “No Justice, No Peace,” expressed sadness over the death of Corporal Ojobule. They sent their condolences to the Nigeria Police in Delta and the family of the late Corporal.

ISRCA’s National Coordinator, Derrick Oritsematosan Agberen, also condemned the attack and called it senseless.

He said, “It’s really bad when police officers and other security members, who are meant to protect us, become victims of insecurity. We, as a group, will continue to speak against crime and bad governance in Nigeria. Many leaders in the country are playing dirty politics with the lives of over two hundred million Nigerians. It’s time for these leaders to take responsibility. Insecurity will eventually reach everyone, even the powerful ones, it’s just a matter of time!”

The late Corporal Chibuzor Ojobule was from Delta, happily married, and a father of five children before his unfortunate death.
