Two news reporters were taken by bad guys in a place called Danhonu, which is in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The bad guys came on Saturday night. They took these reporters and their families from their homes.

The reporters are Alhaji AbdulGafar Alabelewe and AbdulRaheem Aodu. They work for The Nation and Blueprint Newspapers in Kaduna State.

Alabelewe is the leader of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Kaduna. He was taken with his wife and two kids.

Aodu and his wife were also taken. Their sick daughter was left behind.

A family member, Taofeeq Olayemi, said the bad guys came around 10:30 p.m., shooting before they took the families.

They first took Alabelewe, his wife, their three kids, and a visitor, but they let the girl and one kid go after some time.

Next, they broke into Aodu’s house. They took him and his wife but left their sick daughter.

“They entered Abdulgafar’s house by climbing over the fence,” said Olayemi.

“They went straight to his bedroom and took him, his wife, and two kids. They left quickly. Just after they left, local guards came and started shooting in the air,” Olayemi added.
