Controversial singer Portable, who was arrested by the Lagos Police for allegedly purchasing a N27 million G-Wagon and reneging on his promise to pay the balance, has been granted bail.
The singer fulfilled his bail conditions on Wednesday night and was released.
PREMIUM TIMES reported that the 30-year-old singer was arrested on Tuesday following a request from the G-Wagon distributor.
The singer allegedly bought the vehicle for N27 million, paid N13 million and agreed to pay the balance later.
However, he was arrested when he failed to pay the remaining N14 million.
Lagos State Police Spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed Portable’s release.
Hundeyin earlier confirmed that the Ogun-born singer spent Tuesday night in the cell after failing to present reliable collateral.

After the singer’s arrest, his agreement with the dealer emerged on social media.
A copy of the agreement obtained by this newspaper shows that the Ogun-born singer signed a commitment to purchase a black Mercedes Benz GLE 350, with chassis number 4JDASHB6GA656575.
Under the agreement, Portable was expected to make the final payment for the vehicle on February 24.
The agreement read: “I, Badmus Okikiola Habeeb (also known as Portable) of the above name and address, at this time write this letter committing to purchase a black Mercedes Benz GLE 350 with CHASSIS NUMBER: 4JDASHB6GA656575 at the rate of twenty-seven million naira only (N27,000,000.00), which I promise to pay the first payment tomorrow, January 10, 2024, twelve million naira only (N12,000,000.00), the second payment will be on January 24, 2024, five million naira. (5,000,000.00).
“The third payment will be on February 10, 2024, five million naira (N5,000,000.00); the balance is due on February 24, 2024, five million naira only (5,000,000.00 naira). In total, the money is only twenty seven million naira (27,000,000.00), and Badmus Okikiola Habeeb (aka Portable) agrees that the car is fine for me.
