Oh no, a big accident happened on the old road between Oyo and Ogbomosho. Sadly, four people have died because a big truck, called a trailer, fell into a big hole on the side of the road.
The news says that many other people got hurt really badly in this accident on Thursday night.
This bad thing happened at a place called Emaayo-Seminary in Ogbomosho.
The big truck was going from Oyo to a place called Ilorin. It fell into a big hole in the road that was very broken. The truck turned over, and the people inside got stuck under it. They couldn’t get out until Friday morning.
There is a new and better road from Ibadan to Ilorin, but they have been building it since 2001 and it’s still not done!
A man from Ogbomosho, named Kolapo, said, “We asked the big people in the government many times to fix our road properly and finish the new big road, but they don’t listen. They don’t care that we need help.”
He also said, “There is a short part of the road in Ogbomosho that’s really broken, but it is not longer than 500 meters. We have shouted for almost a year to get it fixed, but nothing has happened. Some people tried to fix it a little, but it didn’t last.”
He was upset that the government is not helping people in Ogbomosho. He mentioned, “The Oyo-Iseyin road was also a federal government road, and our state government fixed it when the federal government didn’t. It was much longer. Why can’t they help fix our short road too?”
