The police in Edo State have caught four people who were accused of stealing a Toyota Highlander car with guns.
The police boss, Mr. Nemi Edwin-Iwo, told reporters in Benin City about this on Friday. He said the thieves used a motorcycle to take the car from its owner.
Mr. Edwin-Iwo shared that three young men, Ifeanyi Okpara (26 years old), Dennis Okosun (25 years old), and Edwin Iruogbe (27 years old), took the SUV with registration number RBC 66 AQ in Ekpoma, Edo State.
The fourth person, Shehu Ismail (25 years old), bought the stolen car for 1.5 million Naira.
The car owner, Mr. Iwologbe Rapheal, who lives in Judges Quarters, Ekpoma, told the police about his stolen car on August 23, 2024, around 8:30 PM.
“After receiving the complaint, the police team from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit worked very hard using advanced technology. They found the stolen car and arrested all the people involved,” Mr. Edwin-Iwo explained.
The police also found a homemade gun and two bullets with the suspects.
All of the suspects have admitted to the crime and will soon be taken to court.
