Four Fatalities, Eight Injured in Ogun Auto Crash

Four people died and eight others got hurt badly in a car accident at RCC, Ogbere, on the Ore-Ijebu Ode expressway.

The crash happened with a white Toyota Hiace bus, license plate XA690AKU, around 2:00 p.m on Monday.

Florence Okpe, a spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps’ Ogun Sector Command, confirmed the accident. She said 18 people were in the bus.

She mentioned that the crash happened because the driver was tired and lost control.

Okpe said, “There were 18 people in total: eight men and ten women. One man and three women died, while four men and four women were injured (burnt). The others were not hurt.”

She added that the injured were taken to the state hospital in Ijebu-Ode for treatment, and the bodies were also kept at the state hospital mortuary in Ijebu Ode.

The Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, advised drivers to rest well before going on a journey. He asked drivers to take a 15 to 30-minute break after driving for four hours.
