In Bauchi State, there was a big flood. The State Emergency Management Agency, or SEMA, said that four people sadly passed away because of the flood.
The flood did a lot of damage. It broke some houses, covered farms with water, and even messed up parts of the Kano-Maiduguri highway.
Mr. Masud Aliyu, who is the boss of SEMA, told everyone about this on Wednesday in Bauchi.
He said the flood hit three areas really hard: Shira, Giade, and Katagum Local Government Areas. This happened because there was lots and lots of rain in the last few days.
“Lots of people lost their homes because of the flood. Farms got covered with water, and some roads that people use every day are now full of water,” he said. Mr. Aliyu also mentioned that the roads affected included Giade-Isawa and the Kano-Maiduguri expressway.
The state’s leaders are trying to fix the roads. They have hired workers to make the roads better and safer for people to use.
Mr. Aliyu also told everyone to listen to warnings from the Nigeria Meteorological Agency, or NIMET. These warnings can help people stay safe from future floods.
