Former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar will preside over the public presentation of Bello-Fadile's Memoirs

Must Read

Former Nigerian Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, will preside over the public launch of the memoirs of Babatunde (RSB) Bello-Fadile.

The book titled Nine Lives: The Memoirs of Bello-Fadile offers insight into the author's extraordinary life as he navigated from a difficult childhood through a career in the Nigerian military that ended with his arrest for the alleged coup attempt of 1995.

“Knowing the immense danger that awaited me in daring to dream of a democratic Nigeria during my time in the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I did it anyway. “I conquered all fears of failure with good humor and a sincere belief in the opportunities that come with true democracy,” Bello-Fadile wrote in his memoirs.

After appearing before a special military court, he was found guilty of treason and sentenced to death by firing squad in July 1995.

Bello-Fadile was one of the political prisoners released by General Abubakar in 1999, following the death of General Sani Abacha.
