Former Formula One driver, Ralf Schumacher, has shared that he is gay.
This makes Ralf the most well-known driver in the sport’s history to come out as gay.
Ralf is the brother of the seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher. He told everyone on social media Sunday night.
On Instagram, Ralf posted a photo of him with his French business manager, Étienne. He wrote: “The most beautiful thing in life is when you have the right partner by your side with whom you can share everything.” This means he is very happy to have a special person to share his life with.
This news was also confirmed by his friend, a German actor named Carmen Geiss.
Carmen wrote: “I want to tell you about a person who is very important to me. I have known and loved him for many years.
“Today, he told everyone he is gay. This was a big and brave step for him. It makes him feel free and happy.
“It took him a long time to decide to tell everyone, but now he is very proud and confident.”
