Flood: Two Cholera Cases Confirmed in Borno

Must Read

In Borno, the government found two people with cholera in a camp for flood victims in Maiduguri.

On Monday, Prof. Baba Malum Gana, the State Commissioner of Health, talked about this while starting a program for Oral Cholera, Measles Vaccination, and Vitamin A supplements in Maiduguri.

He said they have also sent four more possible cases to a lab to check if they have cholera.

The camp where the cases were found has been cleaned and sprayed to kill germs.

“Because of the flooding, we have four suspected cholera cases checked with a quick test.”

“We sent samples to the National Reference Lab, and two came back positive,” Gana explained.

“The patients are now better and out of the hospital. We have been working to stop cholera since the floods started,” Gana added.
