Flash floods have blocked the Azare-Ja’amare road. This road is on the Kano-Maiduguri Highway in Bauchi State.
The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, went to see the blocked road. He told the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, about the problem. The minister had come last week when the road was at risk.
The governor warned that if we do not manage the water flow, nearby communities could be covered by water.
Just two weeks ago, heavy rain badly damaged a big road connecting Kano to Maiduguri. This damage happened especially between the Malori and Guskuri villages in the Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The flood created a big hole in the middle of the road. Because of this, drivers have to use different roads now.
In the North-East zone, Bauchi State has had many floods over the past weeks. These floods have taken lives and destroyed thousands of homes.
