Flood in Yobe Claims 4 Lives, Injures 43

Floods have badly hit different communities in Yobe State, especially in Fune local government area. This has sadly caused the death of four people and hurt 43 others.

The State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, shared this bad news in their latest flood update on Tuesday.

According to SEMA, 1,978 families and about 7,639 people from many neighborhoods and villages in Fune LGA were badly affected by the floods.

“The floods destroyed around 1,215 homes and hurt about 43 people, with 4 people losing their lives.

“The worst-hit areas include Jajere, Ngelzarma, Bindigi, Ngelshengele, Baushe, Kolere Kafaje, Tello Dumda, and Kayeri,” SEMA mentioned in their report.

The agency also shared that Governor Mai Mala Buni has asked for immediate help for the affected families and is checking how many farmlands have been damaged.
