Flamingos Dominate CAR with 6-0 Victory to Advance to 3rd Round of 2024 U-17 WWCQ

The Nigerian Flamingos have progressed to the third round of the 2024 FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup qualifiers after a 6-0 victory over the Central African Republic in the second leg on Friday at the MKO Abiola stadium, Abuja.

The result means the Flamingos advanced 12-0 on aggregate, following a 6-0 victory in the first leg.

Harmony Chidi scored a hat-trick, while Ramota Kareem scored two goals and Tessy Ojiyovwi scored one goal.

Harmony scored the first goal for the Nigerian team in the 2nd minute and added a second in the 14th minute.

In the 36th minute, Ojiyovwi made it 3-0 before Kareem added the fourth and fifth goals in the 55th and 85th minutes, respectively.

Harmony completed her hat-trick with another goal in the 90th minute.

Three teams from Africa will participate in this year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from October 16 to November 3, 2024.

In the 2022 FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup in India, the Flamingos finished in third place.
