Five people have been taken by the police in Kwara State because they might know something about a man named Lanre Adebayo who died. Lanre was 46 years old and went to school at the University of Ilorin where he studied political science. The police are trying to find out what happened to him.
The people the police took include a man who is the leader of his neighborhood, the leader’s two wives, and two men who work as security in the area. They were picked up by the police on Tuesday and taken to the police station in Ilorin on Wednesday.
Lanre was on his way home and there was a fight with the security men in the Ita-Elepa part of Ilorin West around 10:00 pm on Sunday. That is when Lanre was hurt and died.
A newspaper named DAILY POST says the fight was really bad, and Lanre was hit with a sharp weapon. The police spokesman, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, wasn’t able to talk when people tried to ask about the case, but others at the police office confirmed that they are looking into what happened.
