Fire Erofs Kano Market, properties that are worth billions of ashes burns

A fire outbreak in a scrap market in Dakata, state of Kano, has destroyed properties worth bills of Naira.

The spokesman for the Kano State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident, stating that lives were not lost.

The reports indicate that the fire began after sparks from some electrical posts, quickly extending to a peanut processing factory.

Kano's state police commissioner, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, visited the scene and described the incident as tragic.

He also revealed that a man was arrested for trying to steal products from the fire scene.

According to him, thorough investigation will be carried out to avoid future occurrences.

The commissioner praised the rapid response of the Fire Service personnel and local residents to extinguish the fire.
