The Federal Administration of Capital Territory (FCTA) said that it has allocated fourteen district hospitals for general rehabilitation and the provision of medical equipment in the 2025 budget.
The Secretary of the Mandate of the Ministry of Health and Environment Services of FCT, Dr. Addolapo Fasawe, revealed this while presenting the renovated Vip Ward, which bears the name of Nyesom Wike, at the Maitama district hospital on Thursday.
She said the initiative aims to address the critical challenges of health infrastructure and reposition medical centers for efficient services.
According to her, the renewal of the VIP room, which began in Maitama, will be extended to the thirteen remaining hospitals so that they feel comfortable for both patients and doctors.

The secretary of the mandate revealed that the Nyesom Wike VIP Chamber will be free for doctors and nurses within the health system.
FASAWE said: ** ”Rehabilitation is to make hospitals feel comfortable for both patients and doctors.
“Well, in the 2025 budget, we have captured fourteen hospitals for rehabilitation. After passing the document, it will provide details of how much is assigned for rehabilitation and the provision of equipment in hospitals.
“The exercise will cover the improvement and replacement of equipment in all hospitals and primary medical care centers in the FCT.” **
When asked about the use of medical workers, the interim general director of the FCT Hospital Management Board, Dr. Olugbenga Bello, said the plans are underway to recruit doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, laboratory scientists and other health workers.
He said that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike had also approved the replacement of 315 health workers in all hospitals.
“The FCT minister has approved the replacement of 315 health workers in hospitals. Now it is left for the Civil Service Commission to complete the process, and they are working on it, ”said Bello.
