A big problem has happened in Taraba State. A bridge got damaged because of too much rain.
This bridge is in Mayo-Kam village, which is part of the Bali local government area. The rain was so heavy that it caused erosion, which damaged the bridge.
Because the bridge is broken, many roads are cut off. These roads usually help people to travel between different places like Gembu in Sardauna, Baisa in Kurmi, and Gashaka.
Now, it is very hard for people who travel by road. They find it tough to move from one place to another. This problem affects both travelers and those transporting goods.
Both the local leaders and the people who live there are asking the government to fix the bridge quickly. Until the bridge is fixed, people are being told to use other roads to stay safe.
This problem is similar to what happened just a day before. Another bridge in Namnai was also damaged by flood. That bridge connects the state capital to Benue State and southern Nigeria.
People from nearby villages have told us that fixing the bridge should be the government’s top priority. They say that the broken bridge is making it hard for them not just to travel, but also to do farming.
One farmer said, “If the bridge is not fixed soon, we won’t be able to take our farm products to the market.”
