EPL: Chelsea Risks FA Sanctions Following 1-1 Draw with Nottingham Forest

Must Read

Chelsea is in a bit of trouble after their 1-1 game tie with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Football Association (FA) is going to charge Chelsea £50,000 because their players got six yellow cards during the match.

Everything started when Moisés Caicedo got the first yellow card because he kicked the other player, Morgan Gibbs-White, in the 21st minute. Imagine a kid pushing another kid in the playground and the teacher saying, “That’s not nice!”

A little later, the referee, Mr. Chris Kavanagh, gave Nottingham Forest’s player, James Ward-Prowse, a yellow card when he kicked Chelsea’s Cole Palmer in the 36th minute. It’s like when you bump into someone by accident and you have to say sorry.

When the game began again after the break, Nottingham Forest scored a goal right away. Chris Wood got the ball into the net with help from his buddy Nikola Milenkovic, who gave him a good pass.

Chelsea said, “We can do that too!” and Noni Madueke scored a goal for them with help from Cole Palmer in the 57th minute, so both teams had one goal each.

But then Cole Palmer got in trouble for talking back to the referee in the 75th minute. It’s like when you argue with an adult and they say, “Mind your manners!”

Nottingham Forest had to play with one less player because James Ward-Prowse got another yellow card for doing something bad again in the 78th minute. That’s like getting a timeout for being naughty twice.

Near the end, Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella and Levi Colwill, along with Nottingham Forest’s Neco Williams, got into a small fight, so the referee said, “Break it up, kids!” and gave them yellow cards in the 89th minute.

The goalie for Nottingham Forest, Matz Sels, got a yellow card because he was taking too long to kick the ball after a stoppage. Imagine taking too long to finish your homework and the teacher says, “Hurry up!”

Chelsea’s Pedro Neto got a yellow card too because he tripped Nicolás Domínguez about three minutes later.

Then, Wesley Fofana got the sixth yellow card for Chelsea when he tripped someone else, Jota Silva, way into the stoppage time.

According to someone who writes about these things, Kieran Gill, the FA is going to hit Chelsea with the £50,000 fine because their players couldn’t keep calm. And, it’s not even the first time! Before this, they got in trouble for having eight yellow cards when they played against another team, Bournemouth, on September 14th.

That was also a big match because it set a record, but not in a good way. There were 14 yellow cards given out in total, and it was a very busy day for referee Anthony Taylor!
