EPL: Arteta Reflects, Believes Arsenal Deserved Victory in 2-2 Draw with Liverpool

Must Read

Mikel Arteta, who is the coach of Arsenal, thinks his team should have won against Liverpool in their soccer match on Sunday.

Near the end of the game, Mohamed Salah scored a goal for Liverpool, which tied the game up, so neither team won at Arsenal’s stadium.

At first, Arsenal was winning because a player named Bukayo Saka scored a nice goal. But then a Liverpool player, Virgil van Dijk, used his head to make the score 1-1.

Arsenal took the lead again before the break when Mikel Merino scored his first goal for the team.

Arteta said, “It’s really sad we didn’t win because when you look at the chances, we deserved it.”

He explained, “The team played really well. We were strong and focused. We attacked a lot and made big chances. But when Liverpool scored their second goal, we let them catch us open. Against a team like Liverpool, you can’t do that if you want to win.”

Arteta also mentioned, “Our defense was different today, not what we are used to. We should have won the game.”
