Enugu Government Confirms Cholera Outbreak, Urges Residents to Be Vigilant

Must Read

Sure, here’s a simplified version of the blog post:

The Enugu State Ministry of Health has said that the state is also dealing with the Cholera outbreak happening in the country.

This was shared in a message by Professor Emmanuel Obi, who is the Health Commissioner in Enugu State.

He asked everyone living in the area to be careful. Professor Obi explained that Cholera spreads when food or water is dirty. It can make you have a lot of runny poop really fast. If you don’t get help quickly, it can be very dangerous and make you very sick or even lead to death. Some people might also throw up or have a stomachache.

He said they are working with other health helpers and are doing all they can to make things better. They are following the plans made by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control.

Professor Obi told everyone to watch out and do these things to stay safe:

1. **Wash your hands**: Use soap and clean running water to wash your hands often. If you can’t do that, use hand sanitizers.

2. **Drink safe water**: Make sure you are getting your water from clean and trusted places.

3. **Be careful with food**: Cook and handle food carefully and cleanly.

4. **Protect yourself**: When you are looking after sick people, wear gloves and face masks to stay safe.

5. **Get help fast**: If you or someone you know suddenly starts having watery poop, go to the doctor or hospital right away.

The Enugu State Ministry of Health says they are dedicated to keeping everyone informed and taking care of people’s health in the community.
