Police officers from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently caught 55 people for doing bad things in Kwara State. These people were doing naughty things on the internet, like trying to trick people, said Mr. Dele Oyewole, who talks to the public for EFCC.
The catches were made on a Wednesday in a place called Offa, which is a part of Kwara State. The police surprised these people by going to where they stay because they had heard they were up to no good online.
When the police got there, they found nine fancy cars, two motorbikes, laptops, and phones. Some people even had magic charms! This is what police took away from the bad guys.
These people will have to explain what they did in front of a judge once the police are done with their work.
A newspaper, DAILY POST, told us that, between September 3rd and 6th in 2024, EFCC also caught around 100 other people in the main city of Kwara State, called Ilorin. They too were trying to trick people online.
The newest catch happened on a Wednesday morning. Most of the people caught were young and still in school. They were hiding, but the police found them early in the morning.
