EFCC arrests 40 alleged Internet scammers in Niger

The Zonal Directorate of Kaduna of the Commission of Economic and Financial Crimes, EFCC, has arrested 40 alleged Internet scammers in the state of Niger.

The commission said the suspects were caught in Bida and Minna Lugas.

According to a statement signed by Dele Oyawale, boss, media and advertising, they were arrested after the credible intelligence that linked them to alleged fraudulent internet activities.

The elements recovered from them include three cars, eight ensembles of energy generation, a air conditioning, two power stabilizers, 10 motorcycles, eight laptops, four Bluetooth speakers and 60 Android phones.

Fetish articles were also recovered that included three pumpkins adorned with feathers, soap and sponge traditionally made, a bottle of hot drink, 20 cowries, a waist account and four underwear of the lady.

Oyewale added that the suspects would be accused of courts as soon as investigations conclude.
