The special police team in Edo State went after groups causing trouble they arrested some people. These groups are called Eiye and Vikings, and they are fighting each other.
Chris Nehikhare, who shares news for the state, told everyone this at a meeting in Benin City. He also helps catch the troublemakers.
Nehikhare said that the state will not allow these groups to cause problems. If they don’t stop, they should leave or get caught by the police.
He talked about some recent fights that happened on a Sunday, October 27, 2024. The police took it seriously and started catching those involved.
Many people were part of the fight and the police are still looking for more bad guys who got away.
Nehikhare explained, “We are worried about the trouble these groups Eiye and Vikings are causing. They are fighting to be the stronger group in the city.”
When the police learned about this, they quickly went out to stop it. They caught some people and made sure the fighting didn’t get worse.
The police are also watching places where these fights often happen. They want to keep the city peaceful and safe.
The police promised the people of Edo State that they are safe. They said they will work hard until everyone responsible for the troubles is caught and punished.
