Edo Road Accidents Result in 12 Fatalities Over Two-Month Period

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Edo State reported that 12 people died in car crashes in the state between May and June 2024.

The state FRSC commander, Paul Okpe, shared this sad news with reporters in Benin City on Tuesday.

Okpe said that the 12 deaths happened in a total of 31 accidents within the state. He explained that 12 people died in May, and 4 people died in June.

In total, 143 passengers were involved in these accidents. Out of these, 12 people died and 53 got hurt.

The commander pointed out that these crashes were mainly caused by things like not following road rules, brakes not working, driving too fast, driving dangerously, and using phones while driving.

He advised all drivers to always follow safety rules to keep themselves and others safe on the road.
