Edo Gubernatorial Candidate Aikorogie of NRM Defects to APC

Must Read

Just a few weeks before the Edo State governorship election, Dr. Dennis Osahon Aikorogie, who was running for governor with the National Rescue Movement (NRM), has quit the race. He has decided to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) instead.

On Friday, at a rally held on Textile Mill Road in Benin City, Aikorogie shared this big news. He said he was leaving the NRM to join the APC because he wants to help make the state better.

Aikorogie expressed his support for the APC’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his Deputy, Dennis Idahosa. He said, “I am here today to show my support for Senator Monday Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa. I am bringing along all my supporters and party members to join the APC because we believe in Okpebholo. He is dependable and takes action.”

He further said, “Right now, we need leaders who do things, not just talk. Senator Monday Okpebholo has always been close to the people, even before he became a senator. He understands and cares for the people, unlike others who come out of nowhere to run for governor without any real connection or responsibility towards the people.”

Aikorogie revealed that more than 5,000 of his followers would also be joining the APC with him.

He urged the people of Edo State not to lose hope because of the problems at the federal government level. Instead, they should trust Senator Okpebholo to lead the state to better days.

Aikorogie encouraged registered voters and everyone in the state to vote for the APC, saying he believed Okpebholo’s leadership would be different and better. He promised the state would see economic growth, jobs for young people, improved infrastructure, and much more under Okpebholo’s leadership. He said it was time to save Edo State from the current problems.

He added, “If Okpebholo did great work as a senator, I believe he can do even more as governor. He has the ability to make Edo State better if we elect him.”
