Edo Governorship Election: Group Raises Concerns Over Suspected Thug Deployment, Implicates APC

Must Read

Just a week before the big governor election in Edo State, a group called the Edo Collectives is worried about troublemakers coming into the state.

The election is set for Saturday, September 21, 2024.

The group says that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is bringing in these troublemakers.

According to their spokesperson, Ese Ipboba, the troublemakers are mostly from Kogi and Imo states. They are supposed to cause problems during the election.

Ipboba says these people are already in Edo State and know what they are supposed to do.

But Ipboba warns that the people of Edo State want a peaceful election and will work hard to make sure it stays that way on September 21.

He says the people of Edo will protect their votes and are ready to face the troublemakers.

“We will not let them mess up the election and we will make sure the results are fair,” he said.

According to DAILY POST, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) didn’t sign the Peace Accord before the election.

The PDP says its members are being arrested and held by the police.

The APC and 16 other political parties signed the Peace Accord on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Benin City.

The APC had first said they would not sign the Peace Accord but they finally did.
